Two of Ghana’s Top Personalities ; Musician Sarkodie and Business Tycoon Capt Prince Kofi Amoabeng yesterday inspired and motivated students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology at the great hall auditorium on campus. The event, organized under auspices of ECHO House in collaboration with UT Bank, Sarkcess Music and VodafoneX was aimed at bringing students across tertiary institutions closer to their mentors and have the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts and ideas with them.
The event kick started at 6 pm with the elegant host of the night; Anita Erskine. She took the opportunity closely interact with the two personalities who revealed their life stories and how they made it to the top, key challenges they faced and certain tough decisions they had to make. They also exposed students to certain mistakes that they made in the course of their careers and advised students not to follow suit.
Sarkodie told his story about how he struggled as an underground rapper,sometimes sleeping on an empty stomach and even selling yam on the streets of Accra. Prince Kofi Amoabeng also gave his version on how he struggled to build and finance his firm when he started after leaving the military.
Though Exams was in progress, attendance as high as students took the opportunity to pose questions to their mentors. There was a presentation of sketched Portraits of the two personalities, as well as a performance by Sarkodie, which erupted the crowd to its feet.
